Steve Moore decided against a career in architecture to launch a business selling high-end AV to music-loving homeowners nearly 40 years ago. He then left to set up SMC in 1993 and, inspired by a visit to CEDIA Expo that year, helped to launch CEDIA in the UK, running it alongside his own company from his London dining room, subsequently teaching at numerous CEDIA events worldwide.
SMC, like the industry in general, has grown enormously since then, and Moore has consulted for a wide variety of technology businesses, large and small, along the way. With strong successors running SMC, Moore is now semi-retired, and continues to support others operating in the connected home space.

Joel founded the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) in 1994, introducing video-calibration services to the consumer-electronics industry and training calibrators to provide those services. He has also consulted for the high-end audio/video, telemedicine, and medical-management industries. He is the producer of the HDTV Calibration Wizard DVD and co-inventor of the Microsoft Windows Display Calibration Wizard, which is now installed on over 111,000,000 PCs.
He frequently volunteers his time to the industry. For example, Joel has served on the CEDIA Awards Technical Judging Panel for the last several years, and he has been a popular instructor at CEDIA Expo. From 1995 – 2009, he launched a myriad of products and programs for Monster Cable Products and started Florida Home Entertainment Design, a CEPro Top 100 Integrator and CEDIA member. In 2009, he was recruited to launch the revolutionary Perfect Path brand of Locking HDMI Cables by PPC, and most recently founded Future Ready Solutions — a national distributor of digital connectivity and fibre cable products for the commercial, residential, and retail markets.

Chang K. Park is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, social activist and a visionary. In the early days of the industry, Mr. Park foresaw the birth of the "home theater" in America and changed the course of control by expanding his company beyond producing remote controls for subscription broadcast providers and many of the world's most recognized brands to sophisticated RF remotes and control devices for the custom installation industry. Mr. Park has been developing and marketing advanced remote controls and home automation products for more than 25 years.
In addition to his achievements within the industry, Mr. Park chairs the Chang K. Park Foundation, an organization that supports human rights, the elimination of poverty and hunger, the implementation of political reform and economic justice. He is also a member of the national governing board of Common Cause, a public interest organization in Washington DC, the board at the Union Theological Seminary in New York and Bread for the World. Mr. Park holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Tech. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree from his alma mater, and recently was inducted into the Academy of Electrical Engineers. He also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
2015
J. Robert Stuart, known by his friends as Bob, started his career as a consultant for the audio industry. Since those early years Bob has maintained a unique impact on the custom integration market in two ways: his products and concepts with the Meridian brand, as well as his work establishing new technologies and formats which continue to shape the world of entertainment, including the new British technology Master Quality Authenticated (MQA).
Stuart’s involvement in the industry goes far beyond the extensive list of products and concepts of which he has been a part of, CEDIA noted. He is actively involved in several organizations that have pushed the boundaries of performance of new audio formats that have been pivotal in the industry. Stuart is an active member of the DVD Forum, and a Fellow of AES; a member of ASA and a visiting Fellow at Essex University.

Brad Kibbel (then Director of New Products for SONY Corp of America) became one of the founders of the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) due to his drive and passion in imagining the art of the possible; how electronics might be combined with software and integrated into our homes and lives. He frequently collaborated with technology companies engaged in similar quests. Apple senior management held Brad's opinion and insights in particularly high regard. All of this culminated in Brad being enshrined posthumously in the CEDIA Hall of Fame – one of the first executives from any manufacturer to receive this honor.
