CEDIA Research Values UK Professional Smart Home Market At £2.2 Billion

(7 October 2026) – CEDIA®, the Association for Smart Home Professionals™, have released its 2026 Professional Smart Home Market Analysis for the UK. At an event hosted on 30th September, CEDIA revealed to a room of integrators, manufacturers, and distributors that the report has estimated that the UK professional residential technology market is worth £2.2 billion. The comprehensive 54-page report also includes some macro-economic trends that are impacting consumer spend and sentiment.

Key findings include:  

• The UK professional smart home market is valued at £2.2 billion, led by lighting and shading (18%), home networking (13%) and integrated control systems (11%).  

• Medium-sized firms with six to 20 employees represent around 22% of firms but generate 56% of market revenue.  

• 67% of firms expect revenue to increase over the next 12 months.  

• Skilled labour shortages and rising costs are the leading business challenges.  

• Media rooms, home networking, and integrated control systems are the most widely installed residential technologies.
