When you join CEDIA, there are many member benefits you gain access to. One of the most common questions we get is whether members get a discount on events. The answer is…yes!

Here’s a breakdown of CEDIA’s major annual events and how membership impacts event pricing.

In addition to the list below, CEDIA hosts education at other ah-hoc global events such as Smart Homes Expo in India - member discounts apply to these opportunities, too.

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE)

What is ISE?

ISE is the biggest AV systems integration show in the world. Each February, Integrated Systems Europe puts together this 4-day event in Barcelona and attendees from all over the world gather to learn, network, and see exhibitors.

How is CEDIA connected to ISE?

CEDIA is a co-owner of the ISE show and as well as providing a Smart Homes education conference each year. We also host the CEDIA Smart Home Technology Stage that has free talks, panel discussions, and events each day of the show.

What kinds of CEDIA education are available?

The ISE education conference covers topics such as:

• Industry trends like wellness, hospitality, and assisted living
• Hot topics like gaming, AI, and slow technology
• Business topics like overcoming recruitment challenges and managing subcontractors
• Cabling and Infrastructure Technician (CIT) and Integrated Systems Technician (IST) exam prep courses
• Proctored exams for the globally accredited CIT & IST certifications

CEDIA Tech Summits

What is a CEDIA Tech Summit?

CEDIA Tech Summits are free, 1–3-day regional events around the globe that offer a space for the smart home technology industry to network with trade suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, and integrators in the area.

How is CEDIA connected to Tech Summits?

CEDIA owns and hosts all global Tech Summits.

What kinds of CEDIA education are available?

There are multiple types of education at Tech Summits, including:

• CEDIA classes based on industry topics, like Power over Ethernet (PoE) and home automation
• For some Tech Summits, there are multiple tracks of CEDIA education with a variety of industry-related topics
• Manufacturer courses from sponsors like Sonos, Lenbrook and Lutron

What discounts do CEDIA members get?

Everyone can attend CEDIA Tech Summits for free, however, members get discounted sponsorship opportunities.

For those Summits where we host a full selection of CEDIA education, members get a deep discount. This is a great way to connect with potential industry partners and/or customers.

CEDIA Expo (“Expo”)

What is Expo?

CEDIA Expo is the biggest smart home technology trade show in North America. It’s held in Denver, CO each fall for 3 full days. Attendees from all over the world attend this can’t-miss annual event.

How is CEDIA connected to Expo?

Although CEDIA used to own the show, it was sold to Emerald Expositions many years ago; however, the name remains. The CEDIA Association still hosts a large education conference with industry leading professionals, booth talks, a town hall, and an awards event at the show.

What kinds of CEDIA education are available?

Expo is one of the best places to access CEDIA education throughout the year because there are so many sessions to choose from during the week.

Some examples of courses in 2023 include (and there are more than 80, so you’ll want to look at the full list!):

• Emerging trends topics like Integrator of 2027 and AI language tools
• Lighting topics like the business of lighting and architectural design trends
• Audio topics like room correction, the double bass array, and the science of sound
