In an effort to increase the number of certified professionals in the UK, and to help raise the credibility and professionalism of the industry, CEDIA is providing members with the opportunity to sit for the Cabling & Infrastructure Technician (CIT) certification exam at various venues across the country.

The CIT certification is aimed at technicians in the first few years of their career who are looking to verify their foundational knowledge, grow in confidence, and demonstrate their commitment to professionalism.
The schedule is as follows:
1st October – Alltrade, Manchester
3rd November – CEDIA HQ, St Neots
4th November – Habitech, Basingstoke
18th November – Alltrade, Glasgow
9th December – AWE, Epsom
There are a number of benefits to gaining CEDIA CIT Certification. It provides a recognised, brand-neutral industry credential that demonstrates technical knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Certification supports members in achieving CEDIA Member of Excellence status and provides increased visibility through CEDIA’s Find a Smart Home Professional directory. It also allows integrators to become eligible to act as a Smart Home Assessor under the CEDIA Smart Home Assurance programme and qualify for the CEDIA Home Technology Integrator ECS Card for site access.
“Certification is an important way for professionals to demonstrate their expertise and commitment to best practice, but we understand that accessibility can often be a barrier,” says Matt Nimmons, Managing Director of CEDIA EMEA. “By taking the CIT exam on the road, we are making it easier for more technicians across the UK to gain a globally recognised industry credential and support the continued growth and professionalism of the sector.”
To support candidates preparing for the exam, everyone who registers will receive a free copy of the CEDIA CIT textbook, worth £65.
Places are limited, so early booking is recommended. To register for an upcoming exam session, visit the CEDIA events calendar.
