Five categories—plus one of Collaborative or Celebrated—are required for Member of Excellence designation. However, the application process will show you exactly where you stand and what you need to achieve. Many members use this as a roadmap for business development. We'll also endeavour to be in contact if you're close to meeting the requirements, to help you get over the line.
Once you submit complete documentation, the review process typically takes a few weeks. Gathering documentation usually takes integrators several hours, depending on your existing systems.
Your time: there is no additional fee for CEDIA Members to apply. Plus consider this: when Member of Excellence wins you projects, your membership investment will be covered.
Member of Excellence status is renewed every three years—as long as your membership is continuously renewed— with updated verification of ongoing compliance across all requirements.

You need a minimum of two valid CEDIA certifications and only one of these can be the CIT. This can be any other combination of certifications, and they can be held collectively by your employed staff members.
Design documentation includes three categories: Architectural Drawings (floor plans, reflected ceiling plans), Project Management Documentation (scope of work, proposals, contracts, commissioning documents, client education procedures), and System Design and Engineering Documents (full-system block diagrams, equipment rack drawings, as-built drawings). You must provide evidence from all three categories.
The Member of Excellence status is only applicable to one location unless additional locations independently meet all programme requirements. Each location must submit separate documentation and qualify on its own merit.
