A full rescue project. The client had an existing home theatre that fell short and struggled with performance. Sound bled into the rooms above, acoustics were poor, and picture and sound performance didn’t deliver. The owners wanted the room taken down to the slab and rebuilt correctly, with genuine acoustic isolation and reference-level performance, while honoring an interior design vision (leather, wood, low ceiling, casual "mosh pit" seating) that ran counter to typical cinema acoustic principles.
A spring-suspended ceiling, decoupled walls, and floating floor brought the room to roughly STC 65.
Roughly a dozen rounds of perforated leather and wood slat testing found patterns that delivered both acoustic transparency and the intended look.
High-efficiency waveguide-driven speakers with precise directivity control placed sound exactly where it belonged despite the room's proportions.
The suspension cradle was reworked three times before achieving a mount that held alignment and decoupled cleanly from the ceiling.
