ECS Card Assessment OptionsThe Home Technology Integrator ECS card allows custom installers of home technology, such as whole house AV systems, to access construction sites where a CSCS card is normally required.
The card recognizes the specific training and certifications that Home Technology Integrators have taken with CEDIA.
CEDIA members have their membership recognised on the front of the card, and any CEDIA certifications that the individual holds will be detailed on the back (CIT, IST, ESC-N, and ESC-D).

Delegates for the ECS Electrical Safety Unit assessment are assumed to have a level of knowledge and competency in basic electrical theory and principles. It is strongly advised that all delegates undertake suitable training, such as the Basic Electrical Safety course on CEDIA Academy, prior to undertaking the ECS Electrical Safety Unit assessment.

There is also a new Remote Invigilation assessment service available to companies that have an ECS Employer Portal account. This will allow an ECS assessment to be taken with an employer and save time traveling to a central assessment venue. Information about this service is available at www.ecscard.org.uk/ris

The assessment covers the essential safety aspects of carrying out electrotechnical work in a specialised occupation allied to an electrical installation that has already been installed by an ECS gold card holder (typically an Installation Electrician holding a Registered Electrician status).
