Nestled within a historic Australian mansion, The Cloister by Wavetrain Cinemas stands as an unrivalled luxury home cinema. This opulent masterpiece combines visionary design, cutting-edge technology, and acoustic brilliance to create an enchanting realm of immersive entertainment.

The focus of The Cloister's design centred on sound isolation, high-quality audio components, and a unique concept exceeding industry standards and fulfilling the client's vision. To achieve an immersive audio experience, Wavetrain Cinemas fully isolated the cinema structure, incorporating resilient mounts for speakers and subs.

The heart of The Cloister lies in its audio system, carefully curated to provide an exceptional listening environment with optimal sound distribution. Embracing the client's desire for an extraordinary cinema, Wavetrain Cinemas presented a unique design concept inspired by gothic-style windows, featuring a church cloister entrance to the basement cinema, accentuating materials, textures, and sheen.

Attention to detail extended to the HVAC system and projector ventilation, ensuring a silent and efficient cooling solution. The control room featured four air feeds for ventilation and fresh air intake, with a cleverly designed hush box concealing the projector to minimise noise and light reflections.

Despite challenges posed by a repetitive ceiling structure, Wavetrain Cinemas meticulously positioned the ceiling speakers for optimal audio orientation, enhancing both aesthetics and viewing experience.

Initial scepticism surrounding the aged brass and gold ceiling was overcome by careful consideration of reflective qualities and colour palettes, resulting in a complementary addition to the overall design without compromising the screen's viewing experience.

The Cloister stands as a testament to Wavetrain Cinemas' success in delivering an immersive cinematic escape that surpasses industry standards and meets client expectations.
