Ruby Cinema - Life Lived Best at Home, EMEA, 2023

Cyberhomes was tasked with creating a visually dramatic home cinema for watching movies, big sporting events, gaming, and presentations with both family and friends. Fine tuning of the design was achieved using 3D renders, including 360 on a VR headset.

A “curved” theme, specified by the interior designer, runs through the whole room encompassing the walls, ceiling, and soft furnishings. Bespoke panels were designed to form the stage, steps, and even a curved projector housing which looks like a big eye.

Outstanding sound is created through a Dolby Atmos 11.10.6 system using Meridian Digital speakers and a Trinnov processor. For exceptional image quality, the Barco Njord Cinemascope projector is used in conjunction with a Screen Excellence Enlightor Neo AT screen.

As the room can accommodate up to 15 people, and the owner likes to play music at high volume, the integrator developed an acoustic barrier strategy to prevent noise transfer. The front wall, for example, includes a 3-layer baffle construction.

Aesthetics and comfort were high on the client’s agenda. There are three rows of luxurious, reclining home theatre seats with the front row being D-box motion enabled for enhanced viewing and gaming. Video tiling means multiple sporting events can be watched simultaneously. A customised fibre optic Starscape ceiling even has shooting stars.

Simple control of the room has been achieved using a Savant control system via an app, remotes, and wall panels with pre-programmed buttons such as “auto reset” for when the room is vacated.
