Cinemaworks wanted to create a home cinema that was “magical” and yet “attainable”. The business objective was to persuade clients that transforming a spare room into a cinema is a realistic and affordable reality.
Cinemaworks wanted to create a home cinema that was “magical” and yet “attainable”. The business objective was to persuade clients that transforming a spare room into a cinema is a realistic and affordable reality.
An unused boardroom has been converted into the showroom. A dividing wall was built to reduce the overall size to better reflect a typical residential room (4.5 x 5m). The smaller side (4.5 x 1.6m) provides an ideal location for the projector and rack, which are easily accessible for viewing.
The room has been treated for acoustics, and the ceiling coffer has been modifi ed to give a more contemporary feel. To create an instant impression, an EnVisio Pixel lighting system produces a dazzling array of lighting effects. The walls have a zigzag shape and are covered with elegant Camira fabric. A luxurious cinema sofa with electric recliner adds to the aesthetics.
To highlight the high-performance capability of a mid-range cinema system, Cinemaworks used a Sony 4K laser projector, with Klipsch sound system and a 3.0m Cinema Build Systems screen. The resulting sound and picture quality is truly impressive.
The lighting is controlled using a Rako system. Preset scenes make it easy to demonstrate the available options. One-touch buttons, for example, give appropriate pixel lighting for different categories of viewing such as kids, fi lm, or sport.
Through a Savant AV control system, visitors are able to experience simple control of the cinema system including the projector, media sources, and lights.
