The clients built a large custom residence above the coastline with sweeping ocean and city views, with a clear brief: technology should disappear into the warm, natural architecture rather than requiring the homeowner to operate their own house. Three priorities shaped the scope: whole-home comfort and ambience control, a home cinema and distributed audio/video experience worthy of the setting, and insurer-mandated remote monitoring for water and smoke alerts when the property is unoccupied, with solar generation included to support sustainability goals.
Wenner unified lighting, shading, audio/video, and security under a single Crestron Home platform, covering 14 independently controlled lighting zones, eight interior audio zones plus exterior zones, and a home theatre with a Paradigm surround system. The project's centerpiece is a large-format display concealed within the fireplace wall on a Future Automation TV lift, rising in sync with a motorised shade as a single programmed scene.
Security integrates a Hikvision NVR, perimeter cameras, and a 2N video intercom, all surfaced through Crestron, and the insurer's environmental monitoring requirement was met natively through Crestron's push notification system rather than adding separate hardware.
A Future Automation TV lift was concealed within a custom-framed structural pocket, rising in sync with a motorised shade so the wall reads uninterrupted at rest and reveals the display only on command.
Multiple revision cycles were run directly with the designer as fabric and coverage selections were finalised, with pockets built into the framing to keep all hardware concealed.
