Located in a Sydney home carved into a sandstone cliff, the room needed to serve two purposes: a reference-quality cinema and music space, and a functional home office for everyday use.
With no ability to expand the home’s footprint, Denote completely reimagined an existing office, rotating the room layout and rebuilding it from the inside out. Rather than hiding the technology, the client encouraged Denote to celebrate it. Inspired by his love of jazz, music culture, and bold design, the result is a room where the audio system itself becomes the visual centrepiece. The space feels expressive, comfortable, and deeply personal, while delivering exceptional performance for films, music, and daily use.
The existing office was completely rebuilt and rotated to improve seating positions and speaker placement.
Floor-standing speakers and tailored window treatments allowed the view to remain while supporting strong audio performance.
Custom joinery integrated a desk and equipment without compromising sightlines or acoustics.
A bold color-matched speaker finish became the defining visual element of the room.
