(February 14, 2024) – CEDIA, the Association for Smart Home Professionals™, is now accepting submissions to the 2024 CEDIA Smart Home Awards, the annual global awards program honoring outstanding achievements in the field of smart home technology. To better recognize and celebrate the diverse talents and contributions within the industry, CEDIA has expanded its individual awards category to include Best Newcomer, Best Sales/Manufacturer’s Representative, and Best Technician.

La sala acabada debe ofrecer un rendimiento excepcional y proporcionar al propietario una experiencia de cine en casa realmente excelente.
Una sala multimedia está diseñada para servir a múltiples propósitos y adaptarse al estilo de vida del cliente. Puede ser un espacio diáfano e incluir otras zonas de ocio, como un bar, un salón de juegos, una mesa de billar y asientos adicionales. El proyecto ganador debe demostrar excelencia técnica en todos los aspectos del diseño y la instalación, y cumplir todas las normas de rendimiento aplicables del sector.

El proyecto debe estar bien documentado y ejecutado utilizando estrategias de gestión de proyectos reconocidas, complementando no sólo el entorno estético en el que se instala, sino ilustrando cómo mejora la vida de quienes lo utilizan.
Las candidaturas a esta categoría deben consistir en una instalación marítima e incluir un mínimo de dos sistemas residenciales de tecnología doméstica instalados por profesionales (por ejemplo, música, vídeo, control de iluminación, vigilancia de la salud y seguridad). La propuesta debe ilustrar y explicar cómo se han integrado los sistemas para ofrecer al cliente más entretenimiento, comodidad, seguridad, control sanitario y fiabilidad.
Las candidaturas deben demostrar un conocimiento real de los resultados de un proyecto de viviendas múltiples. Las características clave son un diseño flexible, una ingeniería escalable y un sistema centralizado. Así se demostrará que una vivienda múltiple requiere mucho más que un sistema típico instalado en una casa individual. Las candidaturas deben incluir documentación clara y objetos de diseño que permitan a los jueces determinar cómo una cantidad de pequeñas unidades se integran en un sistema cohesionado. Mirar más allá de la urbanización y prever las necesidades del propietario final será crucial en esta categoría.

Una documentación clara, detallada y precisa es la clave del éxito de un proyecto y debe ser reconocida por representar al menos dos propósitos: que pueda ser utilizada por cualquier persona que preste servicio a un sistema, ya sea su equipo u otro integrador, para que el sistema pueda ser mejorado y actualizado en cualquier momento, y que pueda servir al propietario de la vivienda como guía de su sistema.
Entries into this category must demonstrate exceptional understanding of delivering excellence in both lighting control and the installation of a well-conceived lighting system. The project could include sustainable and energy efficient lighting systems, with a variety of loads and control applications. The ability to automate and integrate will also be needed to be proven & displayed as a minimum for this category.
A winning entry will present how the rack is laid out in accordance to industry standards and conventions along with attention to detail on consideration of accessibility, future expansion possibilities, thermal management, and serviceability.
This category highlights a project that provides meaningful and relevant experiences for the user, with a focus on the end-user interaction with the system/s, as being paramount, whether this is through unique solutions, the user interface design or even the handover process. Entries in this category should showcase a User Interface for a single project. This can be a customised or unique UI.
This category cannot be applied for, all finalists are included for judging. By working with the design community, the integrator will have completed a project that complements the designs scheme for the intended space. The entry will explain how the specified technology has been successfully integrated to this effect within the category.
