CEDIA, a leading organisation in the Smart Home Industry, has launched the Smart Home Assurance Programme to address the needs of house builders, property managers, and residents. The scheme provides assistance, quality assurance, and marketing support to ensure that property owners and renters can fully utilize the smart technology in their homes, which includes energy management, access control, and other systems, ultimately enhancing the overall living experience. Recent reports show that purchasers and tenants are willing to pay around 5% more for homes with smart technology.
We will make sure that your properties are ‘ready-to-go’ with no need for additional unsightly wiring or dishes, and that internal cabling is suitable for TV, internet, security and other needs so that residents aren’t frustrated when they move in.
Avoid ‘swirl’ in your design team. No-one wants continued conversations about specification. CEDIA have documented what must be done for modern connected homes to work well - now and in the future. This has been agreed with local standards bodies and simple enhancements have been defined if you want to differentiate by offering more. This is intended to save you money at both the design and construction stages.
You download the guidelines documentation and share with your team. CEDIA staff are available to support if anyone has any questions. Your team upload their designs which are quickly checked and either approved or returned with clear recommendations. Once the scheme is at PC, and the wiring is installed and tested by your appointed contractor, those documents are securely uploaded to the site, so that CEDIA can support your residents in the future. There is low annual fee for builders, and a small fee per dwelling. Certifications are valid for five years, and (chargeable) site inspections are available if required. Please contact the CEDIA team should you wish to discuss in more detail.
The scheme ensures that all properties are correctly provsioned, for current and anticipated future needs, for the following:
